Contraindications to the use of TheraCup

  • Precautions. Caution is required in these circumstances and modification of the device's use may be necessary. When appropriate, or if you have any questions, consult a medical professional if any of the following occur: Recent injury or surgery, pregnancy, diabetes , osteoporosis, or severe osteoporosis, hypertension (controlled), abnormal sensations (e.g., numbness), bony protrusions or areas, sensitivity to heat, vibration, or pressure, or mild peripheral neuropathy. Do not wear this device overnight while sleeping.
  • Contraindications. It is advisable to consult a medical professional before using the device: Skin rash, open wounds, blisters, local tissue inflammation, infections, bruises or tumors, skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis, bone fracture or myositis ossificans, osteomyelitis, severe scoliosis or spinal deformity, hypertension (uncontrolled), vascular/arterial and circulatory diseases including blood clots, phlebitis, thrombosis (DVT) and varicose veins, history of embolism, acute or severe heart, liver or kidney disease, severe peripheral neuropathy or other cause of sensory disturbance, bleeding disorders, connective tissue disorders, direct pressure over a surgical site, direct application to the face, head, throat, neck or genitals, pacemaker or ICD. Do not use in the presence of unexplained pain.
